The current library, located on Route de Caleyère, will continue to operate until its closure. Users can make loans and returns until November 28th. The Serre-Ponçon à la Page card and network will be maintained, promising new spaces, collections, and services at the new media library.
For those wishing to borrow documents from other network libraries, it is possible to request them via the website serreponconalapage.fr or from librarians until October 30th. After this date, reservations will be suspended for Embrun subscribers until the new media library opens.
During the closure period in Embrun, no document returns will be possible on-site. Loans made since November 3rd for documents from the Embrun library will be automatically extended until January. However, it is advisable to return documents from other network libraries to Embrun before November 28th to avoid delays.
Visitors are encouraged to utilize the Serre-Ponçon à la Page network, which includes libraries in Châteauroux-les-Alpes, Crots, Savines-le-Lac, Les Orres, and Chorges. Additionally, the Department of Hautes-Alpes's digital offering, Culturicimes, is available, featuring films, self-training courses, languages, and audiobooks. For any questions, contact alapage@ccserreponcon.com.
The relocation involves sorting and moving nearly 7,000 documents from the old library, as well as integrating 8,000 new acquisitions and 3,000 documents loaned by the departmental library. By the end of 2027, the new media library will offer a collection of nearly 21,000 documents for loan.
