The Alpes-Maritimes department is placed under a yellow alert for "storms" and "flood-rain" by Météo France this Tuesday, October 20, 2026, starting at 12 PM, with forecasts of wind gusts up to 80 km/h.

A Mediterranean rain-storm episode, very active between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, is gradually moving eastwards in the region on Tuesday. Météo France forecasts wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h during thunderstorms.
Due to these forecasts, the City of Nice has decided to close all its public parks and gardens starting at 1 PM. The Castle elevator will also be closed. Access to the beaches east of Nice (La réserve, Coco beach, Les Bains militaires) and the coastal path are closed since this morning due to dangerous waves.
It is advised to regularly follow Météo-France updates and adopt appropriate behaviors for these potentially dangerous weather conditions. It is recommended to limit travel, avoid outdoor leisure activities, and not to venture onto submerged roads or into underpasses.
It is also recommended to secure objects sensitive to wind on balconies and terraces, stay away from trees, watercourses, flood-prone areas, and basements. Sensitive electrical appliances should be unplugged, and landline phones should be avoided.
