Individuals applying for the 2027 CNRS competitions (sections 35, 39, 42, 43) can now request support from the Mediterranean Centre for Sociology, Political Science, and History of Aix-en-Provence (MESOPOLHIS, UMR 7064, AMU, CNRS, Science Po Aix). This multidisciplinary social science laboratory is organized around six main research axes, supplemented by two cross-cutting projects.
The thematic axes include: Socialization, Education, and Culture; Migrations, Mobilities, and Circulations; Religion and Politics in the Contemporary World; Socio-spatial Dynamics and Political Mobilizations; Contemporary Violence, Crises, and Conflictualities; and Governance, Norms, and Deviance. The cross-cutting projects focus on Urban Studies and Images and Social Sciences.
MESOPOLHIS invites candidates to submit their project by November 27, 2026, to mesopolhis-gestionnaire[at]univ-amu.fr. The application, to be sent as a single PDF document, must include a CV, the current CNRS research project, the targeted section number(s), and a cover letter justifying the request for MESOPOLHIS support in relation to the laboratory's research axes.
Following the review of applications, selected candidates will receive personalized support and guidance between mid-December and the application deadline. For any questions regarding MESOPOLHIS's scientific themes or the support procedure, please contact the laboratory's management team at mesopolhis-direction[at]univ-amu.fr.
