A public inquiry preceding the declaration of public utility has been opened by order of the prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône, Jacques Witkowski, concerning the very high voltage (400,000 volts) overhead power line project between Fos-sur-Mer and Jonquières-Saint-Vincent.

The inquiry will take place from Monday, November 9 to Friday, December 11, 2026. It aims to allow the public to review the file and submit their observations on this project. The State presents this project as necessary for the decarbonization of industrial activities and for securing the electrical supply of the Fos-sur-Mer industrial-port area by 2030.
The file will be accessible online on the website of the Prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône from November 9. Observations can also be submitted there.
The inquiry commission is expected to deliver its conclusions and opinion in early January 2027.
